DISORDER

“Disorder” is an in-depth exploration of the intricate interplay between order and chaos within contemporary societal structures. In this exhibition, Sameh Al Tawil employs a diverse array of media to examine the concept of identity and spatiotemporal disorder, revealing it as both a destructive and creative force, compelling viewers to reassess their understanding of stability and disruption.

At its core, the exhibition examines the inherent instability of the human condition, questioning the conventional dichotomy between order and chaos. Through his solo exhibition “Disorder,” Al Tawil proposes that chaos is not merely the absence of order but a dynamic state capable of generating new forms of organization and understanding.

As Jean Baudrillard suggests:

“The real is not only what can be reproduced, but that which is always already reproduced. The hyperreal.”

This perspective highlights the dissolution of reality into the symbolic and the reproduced, blurring the boundaries of identity. Al Tawil’s work embodies this interplay, presenting himself as both creator and construct, inviting audiences to reflect on the fragility of selfhood amidst disorder. Through his practice, the artist navigates the hyperrealities of displacement and memory, where personal and collective identities are perpetually constructed, deconstructed, and reshaped.

Al Tawil’s artistic approach embodies a multidisciplinary methodology, incorporating painting, sculpture, digital art, conceptual music, performance art, and installations.

By juxtaposing smooth and rough textures, vibrant and muted colors, and structured and free-form shapes, his work mirrors the theme of disorder itself. The exhibition navigates the delicate balance between structured environments and the unpredictability of life, highlighting how disorder can serve as a catalyst for creativity.

The visitor experience is designed to be immersive and interactive. Audiences are invited to engage with installations that evoke feelings of disorientation and discovery, symbolizing the journey from chaos to clarity. In certain installations and live performances, Al Tawil’s presence becomes a focal point, transforming him into a living representation of the layered realities explored in the exhibition. His movements, voice, and image serve as conduits, bridging the intimate and collective dimensions of disorder.

Al Tawil’s work invites audiences to explore the fluid boundaries between binaries—here and there, self and other, chaos and order—encouraging reflection on how interdisciplinary approaches shape both personal and collective experiences.

“Disorder” offers a platform for dialogue about the complexities of modern life and the potential for growth and transformation amidst chaos. It is a timely and relevant exhibition, resonating with contemporary global issues and offering a hopeful perspective on the possibilities that emerge from disruption.

اضطراب

“اضطراب“ هو استكشاف متعمق للتفاعل المعقد بين النظام والفوضى داخل الهياكل المجتمعية المعاصرة. في هذا المعرض، يوظف سامح الطويل مجموعة متنوعة من الوسائط لفحص مفهوم الهوية والاضطراب المكاني والزماني، كاشفاً عن هذا الاضطراب كقوة مدمرة وخلاقة في آنٍ واحد، مما يجبر المشاهدين على إعادة تقييم فهمهم لمفهوم الاستقرار والاضطراب. يبحث المعرض في جوهره في عدم الاستقرار المتأصل في الحالة الإنسانية، ويشكك في الانقسام التقليدي بين النظام والفوضى. من خلال معرضه الفردي ”فوضى“، يقترح الطويل أن الفوضى ليست مجرد غياب النظام بل هي حالة ديناميكية قادرة على توليد أشكال جديدة من التنظيم والفهم.
وكما قال جان بودريار

“ الحقيقي ليس فقط ما يمكن إعادة إنتاجه، بل هو ما تم ويتم إعادة إنتاجه دائماً. انه الحقيقي المطلق“

يسلط هذا المنظور الضوء على تفكك الواقع إلى ما هو رمزي وما هو مستنسخ بالفعل، مما يطمس حدود الهوية. تجسّد أعمال الطويل هذا التفاعل، حيث يقدم نفسه كمبدع ومُنتِج في آنٍ واحد، ويدعو الجمهور إلى التفكير في هشاشة الذات وسط الفوضى. من خلال ممارسته الفنية، يتنقل الفنان بين الحقائق المطلقة للرحيل والذاكرة حيث يتم إعادة بناء الهويات الشخصية والجماعية وتفكيكها وتشريحها وإعادة تشكيلها على الدوام.

يجسّد النهج الفني للطويل منهجية متعددة المجالات، حيث يدمج بين الرسم والتشكيل والفن الرقمي والموسيقى المفاهيمية وفن الأداء والأعمال التركيبية.

من خلال المزج بين الخامات الناعمة والخشنة، والألوان النابضة بالحياة والصامتة، والأشكال المنظمة والحرة، تعكس أعماله موضوع الفوضى نفسه. يتنقل المعرض بين التوازن الدقيق بين البيئات التي تتسم بالانضباط وبين اضطراب الحياة وعدم القدرة على التنبؤ بما يجري، مسلطاً الضوء على كيف يمكن أن يكون الاضطراب حافزاً للإبداع.

صُممت تجربة الزائر لتكون غامرة وتفاعلية. يُدعى الجمهور للتفاعل مع الأعمال التركيبية التي تثير مشاعر التوهان والاكتشاف، والتي ترمز إلى الرحلة من الفوضى إلى الصفاء. وفي بعض الأعمال التركيبية وعروض الأداء الحية، يصبح حضور الطويل نقطة محورية في العرض، ويتحول إلى تمثيل حي للواقع متعدد الطبقات الذي يستكشفه المعرض. تعمل حركاته وصوته وصورته كقنوات تربط بين الأبعاد الحميمية والجماعية للاضطراب.

تدعو أعمال الطويل الجمهور إلى استكشاف الحدود المائعة بين الثنائيات – هنا وهناك، الذات والآخر، الفوضى والنظام – وتشجع على التأمل في كيفية تشكيل المقاربات متعددة الأبعاد للتجارب الشخصية والجمعية.

يقدم معرض “”اضطراب”” منصة للنقاش حول تعقيدات الحياة العصرية وإمكانية النمو والتحول وسط الفوضى. إنه معرض ملائم جاء في الوقت الملائم ووثيق الصلة بالقضايا العالمية المعاصرة ويقدم منظورًا مفعمًا بالأمل حول الإمكانيات التي يمكن أن تنبثق عن الاضطرابات.

ندعو الزوار الى الانغماس في الحوار الدائر بين النظام والفوضى، وتعميق فهمهم للتعقيدات الكامنة في فن وثقافة ما بعد حداثي.
